2020 citywide main replacement winding down

Pueblo Water is ramping down its citywide main replacement program area for 2020. Pueblo Water replaced approximately 17,000 lineal feet of 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch cast iron water pipe with PVC. The project also replaced the valves and older fire hydrants as well. Cost of the 2020 portion of the project was approximately $3.2 million. Pueblo Water has invested more than $19.1 million in its contracted citywide main replacement program since 2010, replacing 19.34 miles of pipeline.

The work areas in 2020 included sections of the following:

  • North Hudson Avenue (1200-1300 block)
  • East 13th Street (900 block, 1200 block and 2000-2100 block)
  • Dick Trefz Street
  • MacNeil Road
  • Black Burn Lane
  • Gamble Lane (100 block)
  • Queens Avenue (1600 block)
  • Utica Avenue (1200-1400 block)
  • East 15th Street (1800-2100 block)
  • Salem (1400-1600 block)
  • East 16th Street (1900-2000 block)
  • East 14th Street (2000-2100 block)
  • W. 6th Street (500-800 block)
  • West Street (700 block)
  • East 5th Street (100 block)

Pueblo Water will announce its focus on the 2021 citywide main replacement program in Late December 2020/early January 2021.
